Cookies

Visitors who leave a comment on our site may opt-in to saving their name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for their convenience so they do not have to fill in their details again when they leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If visitors use our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if their browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when they close their browser.

When visitors log in, we will also set up several cookies to save their login information and their screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If visitors select "Remember Me," their login will persist for two weeks. If they log out of their account, the login cookies will be removed.

If visitors edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in their browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article edited. It expires after 1 day.

This website uses Hustle for our newsletter opt-in forms. Hustle uses cookies to count how many times each module is visualized. Cookies might be used to handle other features such as display settings, used when a module should not be displayed for a certain time, whether the user commented before, whether the user has subscribed, among others, if their related settings are enabled.

This website uses Woocommerce for our shop. While visiting our site, we’ll track:

  • Products viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type
  • Cart contents

All collected data might be sent to our workers or contractors to perform necessary actions, as needed.

Forms

When visitors or users submit a form or view a module, we capture the IP Address for analysis purposes. We also capture the email address and might capture other personal data included in the form fields.

When visitors purchase from us, we’ll ask them to provide information including name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as to:

  • Send information about accounts and orders

  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up accounts for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send marketing messages, if visitors choose to receive them

We also store shop comments or reviews.

If visitors request a password reset, their IP address will be included in the reset email.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from their email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if they are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of the comment, their profile picture is visible to the public in the context of the comment.

How long we retain your data

If visitors leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If a visitor registers on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

Visitors who have an account on this site or have left comments can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about them, including any data provided to us. They can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about them. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
